About
Wichita Falls Birth & Wellness Center is a freestanding birth center at 2001 Brook Ave in Wichita Falls, Texas, serving the city and surrounding communities since 2017. The center is licensed by the State of Texas and accredited by the Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers (CABC). It was founded by chiropractor Dr. Cari Guidry, and care is provided by certified nurse midwives with board certification from the American Midwifery Certification Board. For low-risk pregnancies the center provides complete prenatal care, birth in its birth suites (including water birth, nitrous oxide and VBAC), a 24-48 hour home visit after birth, and six weeks of postpartum care. The midwives also offer well-woman care such as annual exams, Pap smears, birth control including IUDs, STI testing and common problem visits. Lab work is done on site in partnership with Quest, and ultrasounds are ordered through outside facilities. The center's Milk Spot lactation clinic, staffed by International Board Certified Lactation Consultants, offers breastfeeding courses, one-on-one education, latch and tongue-tie assessments and back-to-work feeding planning, and is open to families regardless of where they gave birth. Childbirth and family classes are also offered.
