Shaunna Mayers, PT, DPT, is a licensed physical therapist at Progress Physical Therapy, a physical-therapist-owned practice in Glen Allen, Virginia. She grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska and earned her Bachelor's in Health Science (2009) and Doctorate in Physical Therapy (2011) from Andrews University. After graduating, she took a special interest in women's issues, including breast cancer rehab, chronic pain and pelvic floor therapy. Her certifications include Lymphedema Certification through Klose Training (2014), Manual Therapy Certification from the North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (2016) and Certified Manual Trigger Point Therapist for dry needling through Myopain Seminars (2017). She has also completed all three levels of Stecco Fascial Manipulation, including manipulation for internal dysfunction. She received the Clinical Educator Award from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2016 and teaches patients, community groups and physical therapy students. Progress Physical Therapy offers orthopedic and sports care, women's, men's and pediatric pelvic health, prenatal and postpartum rehabilitation, dry needling, telehealth, Pilates, massage therapy and acupuncture.
