Shannon DeSalvo, PT, is the owner of Rehab For Her, a women's health physical therapy clinic in Prairie Village, Kansas (Kansas City area). She earned her physical therapy degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1995, founded the pelvic physical therapy program at St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee (1996-2002), built the first pelvic rehab program at Olathe Medical Center (2002-2014), and opened Rehab For Her in 2018. She holds the APTA Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic Physical Therapy (CAPP, 2007), developed the women's health elective for Rockhurst University's DPT program as an adjunct professor, and has co-authored physical therapy textbooks. She is a member of the APTA, the International Pelvic Pain Society and the International Childbirth Educator Association. The practice sees women of all ages, including teens and adolescents, pregnant and postpartum women, and perimenopausal and menopausal women. Care covers complex pelvic pain, incontinence, bowel dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, painful intercourse, diastasis recti, tailbone and back pain, endometriosis, PCOS and interstitial cystitis. Every patient sees Shannon for the whole plan of care, with no students or assistants. Rehab For Her is cash-based; an itemized bill is provided for insurance reimbursement. Telehealth visits and home visits (within 10 miles) are offered, and the suite has a private in-suite bathroom. Appointments are booked by phone.
