Dr. Savannah Carlson, PT, DPT, founded Rhea Physical Therapy to help women and children with pelvic health concerns across the St. Louis metro area. Dr. Carlson earned a doctorate in physical therapy at Washington University in St. Louis, and is a certified perinatal coach and registered yoga instructor. Care is trauma-informed, one-on-one and hands-on with a doctor of physical therapy for the whole session. It takes a full-body approach that looks at movement and self-care, including nutrition, sleep and stress management. Areas treated include pregnancy and postpartum concerns (pubic bone pain, abdominal separation, birth preparation, heaviness or bulging, return to fitness), urinary leakage, urgency and frequency, constipation and bowel leakage, and pelvic pain, including pain with intimacy or exams, hip and low back pain, pain with exercise and endometriosis. Pediatric pelvic health care covers daytime urinary leakage, bedwetting, frequent UTIs, constipation and potty refusal. Visits are offered in the Brentwood office, in the patient's home or by telehealth, starting with a short new-client call. Dr. Carlson also leads a Baby and Me Yoga class.
