Sarah Highland, MS, OTR/L (she/her), is the founder of Pelvic Floor & More in Upper Arlington, serving the Columbus, Ohio area. She earned a Master of Occupational Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis in 2008 and is an AASECT Certified Sexuality Counselor. Her interest in pelvic health grew after her own recovery from a pelvic floor injury following the birth of her daughter. Conditions treated include pelvic organ prolapse (with pessary fitting), perineal, episiotomy and cesarean scars, urinary and fecal incontinence (including before and after prostate surgery), tailbone pain, pelvic pain such as vaginismus, vulvodynia, pudendal neuralgia and endometriosis-related pain, painful intercourse, constipation and IBS, diastasis recti, pelvic girdle pain, persistent genital arousal disorder, changes in sexual function, care before and after gender affirming surgery, prenatal birth preparation and postpartum rehab. She also offers virtual sexuality counseling. Her training includes Herman & Wallace Pelvic Floor 1, Male Pelvic Floor, Transgender Patients and Pudendal Neuralgia courses, the Prenatal-Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist certification, advanced SUI/POP and pessary fitting, rectal evaluation and treatment, visceral and myofascial mobilization, Institute for Birth Healing courses on the pregnant and postpartum body, and John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Level 1. Treatment may include biofeedback, manual therapy, nervous system downregulation, therapeutic exercise and lifestyle modification, with consent requested at each step. Pelvic Floor & More is a cash-based, out-of-network practice that provides superbills; it cannot see patients with Medicare. Care is offered in the office, in the home within Franklin County, and by telehealth for Ohio residents. A reduced-rate option is available through a financial hardship application.
