Dr. Patti P. Snead, PT, DPT, is the pelvic health specialist at Fit & Function PT in Danville, Virginia, and also treats orthopedic conditions. Born and raised in Danville, she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Chowan University and her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Old Dominion University in 2007. She began specialized training in pelvic health in 2015 and adds further specialty areas each year. Fit & Function provides pelvic health appointments in a dedicated private room. Depending on the evaluation, treatment may include diaphragmatic breathing, soft tissue work to the abdomen or hips, internal (vaginal or rectal) release, biofeedback, pelvic floor down-training and strengthening, bladder retraining, scar tissue mobilization, hip and spinal mobility, balance and return-to-activity training, dry needling, dilator and pelvic wand training, nerve glides and a home exercise program. All sessions are one-on-one, and the clinic offers a 15-minute phone consultation with a physical therapist.
