Melissa Howard, PT, DPT, is the owner and a physical therapist at Bloom for All Physical Therapy, a pediatric practice in Bellaire, Texas (Houston area). Bloom's pediatric pelvic health program helps children with constipation, encopresis and stool leakage, urinary accidents after potty training, urgency, bedwetting after age 5, leaking with sports or laughing, and painful bowel movements or withholding, and also works with infants who have difficulty with regular bowel movements. Evaluations look at the whole child, including core strength, balance, coordination and range of motion, and families receive education and targeted home programs. The practice also offers gross motor and developmental therapy, scar management, infant care, Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) and daily therapy intensives of 1 to 4 weeks. Melissa describes a hands-on, high-intensity approach. Bloom has a team of 3 physical therapists, sees families by appointment Monday through Friday, offers virtual visits, and holds a no-cost community clinic on the first Friday of each month.
