Maternal Instincts through Pinewood Outreach is a nonprofit maternal recovery and prevention program dedicated to supporting pregnant and postpartum women impacted by substance use disorders, trauma, mental health challenges, and difficult life circumstances. Every mother deserves compassionate, judgment-free care and the opportunity to build a healthy future for herself and her child. Using a trauma-informed, individualized approach, the team meets mothers where they are — emotionally, mentally, and physically — while helping them build stability, hope, and long-term recovery, and works to break intergenerational cycles of addiction and trauma. Comprehensive services include: Behavioral Health (individual psychotherapy, trauma-informed and addiction counseling, emotional regulation, relapse prevention, and crisis intervention, provided by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker); Recovery Support (recovery and peer support groups, life-skills training, and future planning); Parenting & Family Support (parenting education, infant safety, and healthy attachment); Resource Coordination (transportation, housing, prenatal care coordination, and community referrals); Crisis & Stability Support (safety planning and immediate linkage to resources); and Ongoing Support (case management, goal setting, and long-term follow-up). Delivered by a compassionate team of an LCSW, Mental Health Professionals and Specialists, and Peer Support Specialists.
