Lucia D. Miller, PT, MPT, PRPC, WCS, is a pelvic health physical therapist and certified Pilates instructor in Redwood City, California. A former professional modern dancer in New York, she earned her MPT from Temple University in 1993 and worked in dance medicine, neuro rehab and outpatient orthopedics before focusing on pelvic physical therapy. She launched the pelvic health physical therapy programs at Sutter Novato Community Hospital and at Stanford Pelvic Health Center. She works with women, men and transgender clients, including prenatal and postpartum patients, pre- and post-prostatectomy care, and rehabilitation related to gender-affirming surgery. Conditions treated include bladder and bowel dysfunction, pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence, and digestive and defecatory dysfunction. Treatment may include self-care instruction, manual therapy, biofeedback, dilators and pelvic wands, balloon sensory retraining, postural re-education, stress management tools, Pilates rehabilitation and therapeutic exercise. She holds the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC, 2020) and the APTA Women's Health Clinical Specialist (WCS, 2021) credential. Sessions are one-on-one, offered in person, by telehealth video, or as house calls on request. Aquatic physical therapy and ergonomic evaluations are also offered.
