About
Knead Therapy Clinic is a health clinic on Terminal Avenue North in central Nanaimo. Beverley Spidle, RMT, opened it in 2010 as a massage practice and still owns it. It has since grown into a team of 18 practitioners. Ten are registered massage therapists, and the rest cover acupuncture, naturopathic medicine, chiropractic, clinical counselling and reflexology. Stephanie Funk, RAc, and Kate Yang, RAc, provide acupuncture and related Traditional Chinese Medicine care. Dr. Man-Yee Yeung, ND, and Dr. Tonia Winchester, ND, lead naturopathic care, with Dr. Winchester handling IV and injection therapies. Dr. Kristen Chila, DC, is the chiropractor, and the Webster Technique is among the training listed. Kate Walker, RCC, and Trishia Unrau, RCC, offer counselling in person and online, and Amanda Merkley, CRT, offers foot reflexology. Massage visits begin with a conversation and an assessment, so clients do not need to pick a technique before they arrive. Common reasons for booking across the clinic include injury recovery, back and neck pain, headaches, pregnancy and postpartum care, hormone and digestive concerns, stress, anxiety and trauma. Direct billing runs through TELUS eClaims and several other plans, and clients can book or change appointments online. Massage is $105 for 45 minutes or $135 for 60 minutes, tax included.
