About
Jen Alward has used art as a path to healing for about 20 years. She earned a master's in Art Therapy and Marriage and Family Therapy at Notre Dame de Namur University. Her work has taken her into homes and clinics, and abroad to train counselors and ministry leaders, including work in Ethiopia with women leaving the sex trade. Her personal counseling for individuals, couples and families combines art therapy, Christian counseling and cognitive-behavioral techniques for issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and life transitions. She also consults with and supervises helping professionals and art therapy students, and she offers books, courses and a membership on faith-based art journaling.
