Janette Sofia Cariad, PT, CLT-LANA, is the physical therapist behind Nurturing Health Physical Therapy in Berkeley, CA, with more than 30 years of hands-on experience. She specializes in pelvic health and in lymphedema and breast cancer rehabilitation; she received lymphedema certification training in 1999 and became LANA certified in 2001. She also treats arm, leg and trunk lymphedema and musculoskeletal pain. All races and genders are welcome. Her approach centers on manual therapy and the fascial system as it relates to joints, muscles, organs and vessels, along with movement retraining. Training includes Herman & Wallace courses (where she has also assisted teaching), Pelvic Global Academy, The Institute for Birth Healing, visceral manipulation, myofascial release, cranial techniques, strain-counterstrain and Shirley Sahrmann's Movement System Impairment approach. All care is one-on-one with her, in a private treatment room, with appointments of 1 hour or 90 minutes.
