Dr. Harleen Bawa, PT, DPT, leads Rehab Core Physical Therapy, with offices in Manhasset, Long Island and Midtown Manhattan (36 East 36th Street). She has been a licensed physical therapist in New York since 2007. She graduated in physical therapy from MS Ramaiah Medical College in India and earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of New England. She is certified in Schroth scoliosis therapy through ISST and BSPTS and in the SEAS method, and treats scoliosis, kyphosis, spine conditions and musculoskeletal injuries. She has also trained in pelvic floor care through the Herman & Wallace Institute. She treats women during pregnancy and postpartum for pelvic girdle and low back pain, diastasis recti, stress urinary incontinence and other pelvic floor dysfunction, with an interest in return to sport and fitness after birth. Pelvic floor conditions treated at the clinic include urinary and fecal incontinence, constipation, pelvic pain, pudendal neuralgia, interstitial cystitis, endometriosis, prolapse, pain with sex, vaginismus and vulvodynia. She is a nationally certified Pilates teacher (Polestar) and uses Pilates principles in treatment, along with manual therapy, Mulligan technique, myofascial release, kinesio taping and trigger-point therapy. Telehealth and virtual therapy are offered. The practice works with insurance plans that have out-of-network benefits and can verify them.
