Hello! I am a Japanese-American Licensed Professional Counselor providing both in person and teletherapy sessions to individuals age 12 and up in the state of Arizona. I Also serve clients residing in Minnesota via telehealth. I have been working as a therapist for over 20 years and have had experience working in residential treatment, outpatient community mental health, and private practice. I specialize in working with trauma, PTSD, dissociation, anxiety, and social anxiety, utilizing a trauma-informed approach. I have found that helping clients to identify and address the root cause of their issue leads to greater levels of insight, self compassion, and more meaningful and longer lasting change. In addition to healing unresolved trauma, I also help my clients to develop strategies to regulate their emotions so that my clients can begin to feel more confident as they navigate the stressors of everyday life. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing(EMDR), utilize an Internal Family Systems(IFS) informed approach, and am trained in Deep Brain Reorienting and Dialectical Behavior Therapy(DBT). I also am trained in Deep Brain Reorienting(DBR), a trauma treatment that helps individuals to process shock associated with trauma. I am LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent affirming. I am passionate about helping parents of neurodivergent children/children with disabilities. I am a mother to an AuDhd child, thus have a deeply personal understanding of the trauma and isolation that parenting a child with special needs can bring.
