About this event
Marking its 10th anniversary, the Denton & Collin County Out of the Darkness Community Walk brings North Texas residents together in support of suicide prevention and mental health awareness. Presented by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the walk is a chance for friends, families, neighbors, and coworkers to walk side by side, honoring loved ones lost to suicide and standing with those who struggle with mental health. The event fosters open, stigma-free conversation and connects attendees with local mental health resources and support. Registration is free and there is no fundraising minimum to walk, though donations are strongly encouraged to fund AFSP's research, education, advocacy, and survivor-support programs. The atmosphere is one of remembrance, community, and hope. Individuals and teams are welcome. Check the registration page as the date nears for the confirmed start time and venue within the Denton/Collin County area.
