About this event

The Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support, and research, and the Houston walk takes place at TMC Helix Park in the Texas Medical Center. The site opens at 8:00 AM, with an opening ceremony at 9:15 AM and the roughly three-mile walk beginning at 9:30 AM. Families, caregivers, and community members gather to honor those living with Alzheimer's and other dementias and to remember loved ones lost. A moving Promise Garden ceremony features colored flowers representing each person's connection to the disease. Registration is free; participants are asked to make a personal donation and fundraise, and those who raise at least $100 receive an official Walk T-shirt. The route is accessible and the atmosphere is both hopeful and supportive, with information about local Alzheimer's Association programs and the free 24/7 Helpline. All ages are welcome.
