About this event

One of the largest Walk to End Alzheimer's events in the region, the Phoenix walk fills Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza with families, caregivers, survivors and supporters standing together against Alzheimer's and all other dementias. Check-in and quick registration begin at 7:30 AM, the moving Promise Garden ceremony starts at 8:40 AM, and walking begins at 9:00 AM, with the event wrapping by 11:00 AM. Walkers choose between a 1.5-mile and a 2.5-mile route, both accessible to strollers, walkers and wheelchairs. There is no registration fee, but participants are encouraged to fundraise in support of the Alzheimer's Association's free care and support services, its 24/7 helpline and its research mission. In the Promise Garden ceremony, participants raise flowers whose colors reflect their personal connection to the disease, creating a striking visual of a community united by memory and hope. Resource tables, team tents and survivor recognition round out a morning that is equal parts advocacy, remembrance and community.
