About this event
The Tucson Walk to End Alzheimer's gathers families, caregivers and supporters at Gene C. Reid Park for the Alzheimer's Association's largest annual awareness and fundraising event. Registration opens at 8:00 AM, a moving Promise Garden ceremony begins at 9:00 AM, and the walk itself steps off at 9:30 AM with a choice of a one-mile or three-mile route so participants of every ability can take part. There is no fee to register, though walkers are encouraged to raise funds that support the association's free care and support services, its 24/7 helpline and global research toward treatments and a cure. The Promise Garden ceremony is a highlight: participants carry flowers in different colors representing their personal connection to the disease, whether living with it, caring for someone, or walking in memory of a loved one. The morning also includes resource tables, team gatherings and a strong sense of community for anyone touched by Alzheimer's and dementia across the Tucson and Green Valley/Sahuarita area.
