El Rio Neighborhood Tree Planting

The El Rio Neighborhood Tree Planting on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. brings volunteers to Riverview Park (1600 N Yavapai St, Tucson) to plant desert-adapted trees that provide shade, cooling, cleaner air, and habitat for the El Rio community. Hosted by Tucson Clean & Beautiful, this welcoming, hands-on morning is part of the organization's neighborhood urban-forest program. Volunteers dig, plant, mulch, and water under staff guidance, with all tools provided, so no experience is necessary. The event is free, but an RSVP is requested so organizers can prepare the right number of trees and supplies. Dress for a warm desert morning in closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty, and bring a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water. Be ready for light physical activity and a satisfying few hours of community service. Sign up through the RSVP link.
