Plano International Festival Wellness Fair & FitZone

The Wellness Fair & FitZone is a free health-and-fitness experience woven into the Plano International Festival, pulling together more than 30 healthcare organizations and local businesses to serve the community in one place. It runs across two nearby sites: the Courtyard Theater (1509 Ave H) hosts the wellness services, while the Saigling House (902 E 16th St) hosts the FitZone activities. At the Wellness Fair, attendees can take advantage of a wide slate of complimentary screenings, including blood pressure, glucose, vision, dental and oral health, and orthopedic assessments. Other on-site services include adult and children's flu shots, chair massages, children's haircuts, CPR demonstrations, Medicaid enrollment assistance, and mammogram screening referrals. The fair also runs a community blood drive and a fentanyl-awareness and education station with Narcan distribution, and gives away baby items and toiletries. Everything is offered at no cost, and no insurance information is required. Over at the FitZone, local instructors lead short, drop-in mini-classes in yoga, pilates and more to get festival-goers moving. The event is family-friendly and welcomes all ages, and free parking is available at both locations (a map is posted on the festival website). Most activities accommodate walk-ins; the blood drive asks that donors pre-register online in advance.
