About this event

The Day of the Dead Half Marathon celebrates Dia de los Muertos with a festive, chip-timed race around scenic Marine Creek Lake in Fort Worth. Runners pick their distance - a Kids Dash, 1 Mile, 5K, Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles) or the full Half Marathon (13.1 miles) - all starting at 8:00 AM. Aid stations line the route, and a lively post-race rally tent brings live music and Mexican treats. There's a pre-race costume contest judged on creativity, authenticity and overall impact, so many runners come decked out in colorful Day-of-the-Dead attire. Everyone earns custom medals and t-shirts, and the race goes on rain, shine, hot or cold. A colorful, family-friendly fall race with a strong festival vibe.
