About this event
The Tyler Out of the Darkness Community Walk brings East Texas together in support of suicide prevention and mental health awareness. Organized by the North Texas chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the walk gives participants the courage to open up about their connection to the cause while walking alongside friends, family, and neighbors. The event honors those lost to suicide, supports survivors of loss, and helps create a community that is more open and informed about mental health. Attendees can connect with local mental health resources and organizations. Registration is free with no minimum to walk, though fundraising is encouraged to support AFSP's research, education, advocacy, and survivor-support programs. The atmosphere is compassionate, hopeful, and healing, and individuals as well as teams are welcome. Visit the registration page closer to the date for the confirmed start time and venue in the Tyler area.
