About Khan Psychiatry:
We treat adults (age 17+) with all psychiatric issues ranging from depression, mood disturbances, anxiety, low self-esteem, attention problems, feelings of inadequacy, substance abuse, sleeping difficulties, relationship issues and work stress.
Treatment includes a thorough psychiatric evaluation, ongoing comprehensive treatment, and medication management. When necessary, we may refer patients for psychotherapy or cognitive and behavioral therapy.
Our Providers:
Abdul Majid Khan, M.D. is a practicing Psychiatrist who was born and raised in Southeast Louisiana. He completed his Psychiatric training at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and Ochsner Medical Center, having started at Charity Hospital before Katrina. He has served as Medical Director of several Acute Inpatient Psychiatric facilities, Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs in the private sector. He has been on faculty as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry with the LSU Department of Psychiatry in New Orleans and on staff, in the past, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He has also served as Behavioral Health Medical Director with a Bayou Health Plan to assist with their transition in providing Mental Health to their members. He is currently the Medical Director of Jefferson Oaks Behavioral Health and Regions Behavioral Hospital.
Emily Cleland, PMHNP, is a Baton Rouge native. She attended nursing school at Southeastern Louisiana State University. After graduating, Emily worked as a Psychiatric RN, for 8 years, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She completed most of her graduate preceptorship with Dr. Khan. Upon graduating, Emily elected to stay on with Khan Psychiatry. She continues to excel with providing patient care at Khan Psychiatry, Jefferson Oaks Intensive Outpatient Program, and at Regions Behavioral Hospital.
