You find yourself having big reactions to seemingly small things. Maybe your friends or family say things like, "What are you so upset about? It wasn't a big deal." On the surface it may look like a small thing that happened, but that's not the way it feels in your body. Maybe you feel tense or anxious throughout your body, you feel scared, or you want to shrink down and disappear. Usually there's a deeper, underlying reason you're having big reactions. Trauma isn't necessarily one big event; smaller, repeated events can cause trauma, too. And sometimes we don't even know why we feel these big reactions.
We'll work to get to the roots of what causes those big reactions. I use EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and/or Hypnotherapy to dig deep - all proven methods for retraining your brain in the way it reacts to potentially triggering things. Insights gained with these therapies can lead to lasting changes in your behavior and the way you feel.
