Hi there, my name is Kristen (she/her pronouns).  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor currently pursuing a Perinatal Mental Health Certification as well as a Registered Play Therapist certification.

Seeking help is a daunting task and I applaud you for beginning that process. My goal in the counseling process is not to "cure" you, but to help you gather the necessary tools you may need. Life will continue to hand us things we don't know how to handle and my hope is to give you tools to handle those things better than you may have previously.

I want to ensure that you have a safe place to explore your past, present, and future. A place where you can come and express your feelings without fear of judgement or shame. I pull from several theoretical orientations to create an atmosphere that works best for each client I see. We are all unique individuals and one theoretical orientation will not work best for everyone.

I have extensive training and experience in group therapy. I also have training in play therapy, marriage and family therapy, human sexuality, and diagnosis. I also have years of experience working in acute mental health facilities and that knowledge has been invaluable in my work with clients on a one-on-one basis.

Congratulations on beginning your healing journey. It is a difficult road but I will walk the road with you and help steer you along the way. You are not alone and you are valuable regardless of what you may have experienced.
