About this event
Each year on the last Wednesday of May, National Senior Health & Fitness Day brings older adults together for the nation's largest annual senior health and wellness event. Thousands of local host sites, from senior centers and YMCAs to parks and recreation departments, retirement communities, hospitals, and Area Agencies on Aging, put on community events centered on active, healthy aging. Attendees can take part in mini health fairs, free health screenings, low-impact exercise demonstrations and group fitness sessions, fitness walks, and health-education talks. The goal is to keep seniors moving, informed, and socially connected. More than 100,000 older adults participate at over a thousand locations nationwide. Local events are typically free and welcoming to walk-ins, with each host site setting its own program. To join, find a participating location near you through the national program or a nearby senior center.
