About this event

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer San Diego is a non-competitive, all-ages community walk that celebrates survivors, honors those lost, and raises funds for the American Cancer Society's breast cancer research, patient support and free services. Part of the nation's largest breast cancer movement, the San Diego event welcomes families, friends, coworkers and survivors for a roughly 3-to-5K route in a festive, uplifting atmosphere often filled with pink. Registration is free and open to everyone; participants are encouraged to fundraise to fuel programs like free rides to treatment, lodging near hospitals and the 24/7 cancer helpline, but donations are not required to walk. Survivors are honored throughout the morning, and attendees can visit resource and community tables and take part in ceremonies recognizing the breast cancer community. Come to walk in memory or in celebration, to support someone in treatment, or simply to stand with your city. Strollers are welcome and the route is family-friendly. Wear pink, bring your team, and help make strides toward a world with less breast cancer and more birthdays.
