About this event
The Los Angeles Walk to End Alzheimer's gathers at historic Exposition Park for a free, spirited morning in the fight against Alzheimer's and all other dementia. Registration opens at 7 a.m., the ceremony begins at 8:30 a.m., and the roughly 2-mile walk starts at 9 a.m. Walkers of all ages and abilities take part in the Promise Garden ceremony, holding colored flowers that represent their personal connection to the disease, then set off on an accessible city route. The event is free to join, and while participants are encouraged to fundraise for care, support and research, no one is required to raise money to walk. Around the site, attendees find resource booths on caregiving, brain health and early detection, plus information about the Association's free 24/7 Helpline and local support groups. Come as an individual, form a team with friends or coworkers, or join an existing one. Bring comfortable shoes and sun protection; strollers and friendly leashed dogs are welcome. Together, participants help fund the programs families rely on today and the research pointing toward a cure.
