About this event
The Fresno/Madera Walk to End Alzheimer's invites Central Valley families and neighbors to a free community morning dedicated to ending Alzheimer's and all other dementia. Walkers of every age and ability come together for an accessible route and the moving Promise Garden ceremony, in which each person carries a colored flower reflecting their own tie to the disease, from those living with a diagnosis to caregivers and those honoring someone they've lost. Registration is free and no one is required to fundraise to participate, though teams and individuals often raise money to fund local care and support services and worldwide research. On site, attendees will find information on caregiving, early warning signs, brain health and the Association's free around-the-clock Helpline and support groups. Bring the family, wear comfortable shoes, and plan to arrive early to check in and pick up your Promise Garden flower. Everyone is welcome to join a team, create their own, or simply walk in solidarity with the Central Valley community.
