About this event
Celebrate Thanksgiving morning on foot at the Run for Hope Thanksgiving Day 5K, a beloved San Diego holiday tradition now in its 25th year, held in beautiful Balboa Park. Thousands of runners, walkers, trotters and stroller-pushing families gather to move together before the big meal, with timed-runner, fun-run, kids and virtual options so everyone from serious racers to casual walkers can take part. Proceeds benefit Father Joe's Villages' Food Services Program, which provided nearly 700,000 meals last year to neighbors overcoming homelessness, so every entry helps feed the community. The scenic Balboa Park course winds past the park's iconic architecture and gardens. Registration is required and starts around $41, with prices rising after mid-September, so signing up early saves money. Costumes and turkey hats are strongly encouraged.
