About this event
The Fall Back Festival is a free children's historical street faire that transforms downtown San Diego's historic Gaslamp Quarter into a living-history playground for a day. Now in its 26th year, the event recreates games and activities reminiscent of San Diego's early days, blending old-fashioned fun with cultural dance troupes, live music, food, and hands-on historical activities for kids. It's designed as a vibrant, one-of-a-kind history lesson that families can experience together, with contests and demonstrations woven throughout the Gaslamp's Victorian-era blocks. The faire is free and family-friendly, running through the middle of the day in early November. It's easy to reach by trolley, and combining the visit with lunch in the Gaslamp makes for a full outing. Great for elementary-age children and grandparents alike.
