About this event

The Racine Turkey Trot 5K is a flat, scenic Thanksgiving-morning run and walk along Racine's Lake Michigan Pathway, starting and finishing at Festival Park downtown. Beyond the fun of moving before the holiday feast, the event has a strong give-back spirit: organizers encourage participants to bring food and household necessities to be distributed to local food pantries, and the event benefits the Racine County Food Bank. The course is easy and hill-free, with both competitive chip-timed and recreational categories, and finishers receive a medal, bib and t-shirt. One of the nicest touches is a complimentary Thanksgiving meal served afterward at the heated, indoor Festival Hall from late morning into the early afternoon, so runners and families can warm up and celebrate together. Kick off at 9:00 a.m. and enjoy a community-minded start to the holiday. Paid registration is required; bringing a food donation is warmly encouraged.
