About this event
Now in its 12th year, the Milwaukee Turkey Trot is a chip-timed 5K and 8K run held Thanksgiving morning along the Lake Michigan lakefront at McKinley/Veterans Park. It has become a beloved holiday tradition for thousands of families who lace up before their turkey dinners, and it benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee, supporting youth-mentoring relationships across the community. The flat, scenic lakefront course welcomes competitive runners, casual joggers, walkers and families alike. Registration includes event gear such as a race shirt, and there are kids' dash and fun-run categories so children can join the fun, plus awards for top finishers. Cranky Al's donuts wait at the finish line to reward your effort. The 9:00 a.m. start follows morning packet pickup, and the festive, community atmosphere makes for a memorable start to Thanksgiving. Paid registration is required, with early-bird discounts typically available.
