About this event
The Wichita Turkey Trot is one of the city's most beloved holiday-season traditions, celebrating its 50th year in 2026. Hosted by the Wichita Sports Commission, the event offers a USATF-certified 10-mile run for competitive runners, an accessible 2-mile route for walkers and families, and a short Tiny Trot for the youngest participants. The 10-mile starts at 7:45 AM, the 2-mile at 8:10 AM, and the Tiny Trot at 10:00 AM, all from Century II in downtown Wichita. Finishers receive medals, and top overall and age-group finishers earn prizes. Beyond the friendly competition, the Turkey Trot is a community fundraiser: participant donations support the Kansas Food Bank, helping stock shelves heading into the holidays. Whether you are chasing a personal record or just want an active, feel-good start to the season alongside neighbors and family, there is a distance for every ability level.
