About this event
The Columbus Day 5K kicks off the annual community celebration in Columbus, a small town in southeast Kansas. Starting at 7:30 AM from Columbus Square at Pine and Pennsylvania, the run/walk sends participants along a course through town before rolling straight into a pancake breakfast and festival activities, capturing the event's motto: come for the miles, stay for the pancakes. A shorter Regatta Fun Run follows at 8:30 AM for those wanting a lighter option. Race-day registration opens at 6:30 AM with pre-race announcements at 7:15 AM, and awards are given to overall winners plus age-group categories spanning kids through 70-and-over. It is a classic small-town festival race that welcomes all ages and pairs fitness with hometown community fun.
