Downtown Boise Holiday Tree Lighting

The Downtown Boise Holiday Tree Lighting gathers the community in the park across from the state Capitol to flip the switch on the city's big holiday tree and officially open the season. The free evening ceremony typically includes music, festive activities and a countdown to the lighting, with families crowding the park for the moment the tree comes aglow. It is a warm, communal kickoff to the winter holidays right in the heart of downtown. There is no admission charge; simply show up in the park. Dress warmly for the late-November evening, arrive a bit early to get close to the tree, and plan to use downtown garages or transit as nearby streets and lots fill up around the event.
