About this event
The Greater Portland Walk to End Alzheimer's gathers the community at Payson Park along Back Cove for a 3.5-mile walk supporting the Alzheimer's Association's care, support and research mission. Walkers are welcomed at 9:00 a.m., the opening ceremony begins at 10:00, and the walk starts at 10:30 a.m. There is no registration fee, though a $100 personal fundraising minimum earns an official Walk t-shirt. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome, and each participant receives a Promise Garden flower in a color that reflects their connection to the disease. The event proceeds rain or shine. It's a moving, family-friendly morning that turns collective grief and hope into action against Alzheimer's.
