About this event
This seven-day silent Vipassana retreat offers an immersive opportunity for deep self-exploration and mental clarity through sustained insight meditation. Held at the Metta Meditation Retreat Center on the shores of Lake Elysian near Janesville, Minnesota, the retreat is structured around silent sitting and walking meditation, guided instruction and dharma talks rooted in early Buddhist teachings. The extended silent format allows practitioners to settle deeply and cultivate concentration and insight over the course of a full week, away from the distractions of daily life. The center's 37 acres of woodlands and prairie provide a serene winter setting about an hour from the Twin Cities. The retreat welcomes both those newer to intensive practice and experienced meditators seeking a longer sit, and the schedule and support are designed to help everyone engage the practice fully. Advance registration is required and a fee applies; contact the center for pricing, lodging and meal information before committing to the week.
