About this event
NAMIWalks Greater Mississippi Valley is a free Quad Cities-area mental-health awareness walk held at Veterans Memorial Park in Bettendorf. Check-in opens at 8:30 a.m. with the walk stepping off at 10:00 a.m., giving participants time to visit community resource tables and connect with others before setting out. As part of the national NAMIWalks series, the event unites individuals living with mental-health conditions, their loved ones, care providers and advocates in a shared stand against stigma. There is no cost to register, and participants are encouraged to fundraise so NAMI can keep its education, support-group and advocacy programs free for local families. The route is non-competitive and welcoming to all ages and abilities, and the atmosphere is one of hope, encouragement and community. Walk in support of your own journey, a loved one, or the broader cause of mental health for all. Sign up online in advance or register on site the morning of the walk.
