About this event
NAMIWalks Ozaukee gathers the community at Thiensville Village Park for a free morning walk dedicated to mental-health awareness and support. It is part of the national NAMIWalks series, the largest mental-health awareness and fundraising effort in the country, and it offers a welcoming space for people living with mental-health conditions, their families, friends and local advocates to stand together. There is no registration fee; participants are simply encouraged to fundraise so NAMI Ozaukee can keep its support groups, education classes and outreach free for local residents. The walk is short, non-competitive and open to all ages, and the park setting makes for a relaxed, hopeful gathering. Along with the walk you can expect community resources, friendly volunteers and a strong message that recovery is real and no one has to face mental illness alone. Register online in advance or join the group on the morning of the event.
