About this event
The SIUE School of Nursing invites the community to its inaugural Walk For Wellness, a family-friendly one-mile walk supporting mental health nursing education. Set in Bolm-Schuhkraft Memorial City Park in Columbia, Illinois, the morning pairs an easy, accessible walk with giveaways, food trucks, games, and music, so it feels more like a community festival than a race. Proceeds benefit the Mary Ann Boyd Mental Health Nursing Endowment, established by a professor emerita to fund training for nurses in psychiatric and mental health care, and registration fees are tax-deductible. Participants who sign up by the late-September deadline receive an official event t-shirt and exclusive School of Nursing merchandise. All ages and fitness levels are welcome, making it a relaxed way to move your body, support future mental health caregivers, and enjoy a fall morning outdoors with neighbors, students, and faculty.
