About this event

Enjoy free entry to Fort Pulaski National Monument on this fee-free day, a perfect chance to explore one of the coast's best-preserved 19th-century forts without paying admission. Walk the ramparts, cross the moat, tour the casemates, and learn how rifled cannon fire changed military history during the 1862 siege. Ranger programs and interpretive exhibits add context, and the surrounding marsh trails offer easy walking and excellent birdwatching. It's an affordable, all-ages outing just east of downtown Savannah on the road to Tybee Island. Bring water, sunscreen, and comfortable shoes, and allow a couple of hours to take it all in. On-site parking is free and plentiful.
