About this event

Now in its 35th year, the Madisonville Wooden Boat Festival is billed as one of the largest gatherings of watercraft on the Gulf Coast, spread along the scenic banks of the Tchefuncte River in historic Madisonville. Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, the festival showcases dozens of classic and handcrafted wooden boats on land and water, plus boat-building demonstrations, a quick-and-dirty boatbuilding contest, live music, arts and crafts vendors, children's activities and Louisiana food. It's a picturesque, family-friendly weekend that celebrates the region's maritime heritage and the craft of wooden boat building. General admission tickets are required (children are typically admitted free); proceeds benefit the Maritime Museum Louisiana. Check the event site for current pricing and parking details.
