One of the country's most spectacular holiday light displays, Celebration in the Oaks illuminates New Orleans City Park's ancient live oaks, Botanical Garden and Carousel Gardens with millions of lights from Thanksgiving weekend through New Year's Day. Guests can experience it two ways: a driving tour through dazzling displays, or a walking tour that adds unlimited amusement-park rides, the Ochsner Children's Holiday Express train and access to the illuminated Botanical Garden. Evening hours run Sunday-Thursday 6-10 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 5-11 p.m., with a few closure dates. Tickets are required and vary by tour type; buy online in advance, especially on weekends. A magical, family-friendly holiday tradition.
