About this event
The Louisiana Renaissance Festival transforms a wooded village outside Hammond into a 16th-century fantasy realm each fall, open weekends from early November through mid-December (Nov. 7-8, 14-15, 21-22, 27-29 and Dec. 5-6, 12-13). Visitors wander a permanent village of shops and stages to watch jousting knights, live music, comedy and circus acts, browse handmade wares from artisans, sample turkey legs and festival fare, and mingle with costumed characters. Themed weekends add extra flavor throughout the run. It's open rain or shine, 8:45 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is ticketed; costumes are welcome and encouraged. Check the website for daily themes, pricing and directions.
