Golden Harvest Festival

A free, family-friendly community festival in downtown Bessemer that mixes a local marketplace with games, food and live entertainment. Attendees can browse local vendors and artisans, grab a bite from food trucks, and jump into activities like sack races, hula-hoop contests and dance competitions, while a music-artist competition offers a $500 prize to the top performer. Organizers frame it as an early-holiday shopping opportunity that keeps dollars with neighborhood businesses, and the afternoon also features funding-opportunity presentations from local organizations. Kids are explicitly welcome, making it an easy outing for families looking for a low-cost Saturday. The five-hour event runs from 1 to 6 p.m. and is open to everyone, no ticket required.
