About this event
NAMIWalks Northern Virginia is the area's largest mental health event, now in its 17th year, gathering on the Alexandria waterfront at Oronoco Bay Park. The afternoon-into-evening program includes registration, a large community resource fair, an opening ceremony, the walk itself, and a lively dance party featuring music, dancers, and guests from many cultures. The event aims to celebrate recovery from mental illness, raise funds to support community programs, promote awareness and open discussion, and give hope. Registration is free and open to all; fundraising is encouraged but not required to participate.
