About this event

Held each year on the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service (the third Monday in January), City Park's Annual Day of Service brings New Orleanians together to help care for the park's 1,300 acres. Volunteers spend the morning on hands-on projects such as planting, mulching, cleanup, painting and grounds beautification across one of the country's largest urban parks. The event honors Dr. King's legacy of service and is open to individuals, families, students and community groups. Participation is free, but volunteers must pre-register (typically by the Friday before the event) so organizers can plan projects and supplies. Wear clothes and shoes you can work in, and bring water and gloves.
